Download Cash App

If you don’t already have it, visit the App Store or Google Play and download Cash App. It’s free, and a great virtual banking option. When you open the app, you’ll be prompted to enter your phone or email. The app will then send you a code to continue the sign up process.

One great thing about Cash App is that you can get started buying Bitcoin for as little as $1. I’m going to go ahead and do $5 as a practice run, but feel free to buy as much as you like. After choosing your amount, you’ll be asked to choose and confirm a Cash Pin for your security.

Next, confirm your purchase. My $5 is actually a Bitcoin purchase of $4.97, with a $0.03 fee. If you were in a hurry and skipped adding your debit card earlier (like me), then you will need to do that now. Then enter that Cash Pin you just set, and done. I am now the proud owner of 0.00053 BTC.

Now What?

The next screen will show you a nifty graph where you can monitor and track the value of your Bitcoin. You can also buy or sell from here, as well as send or deposit Bitcoin (with extra verification). You can also see the price per Bitcoin. My $5 was pretty measly, but, hey, it’s a start.
